My End
Inspirational Poetry
16 Feb 2006
My end, dear Lord that You are. My goal, my aim, to reach, quite true, Toward this I strive, and reach for You.
My end, dear Lord, my treasure too, Sweetness laid upon my breast, My faith intact d’spite any test.
My rampart, Lord, that You are. Though wave crash through, or storm, or quake, My refuge strong You will not break.
My fortress, Lord, that You are. Though lightning strike or hurricane, My safety sure You will maintain.
My beacon, Lord, yes, that too, Though darkness take all light away, My lantern bright, You guide my way.
My armor on, my breastplate fixed, I fear no end, no end can scare, Nor raise in me one single hair.
My thoughts secure, my soul stirs not, Life’s burdens borne, Your yoke—‘tis true, Indeed weighs less than I can do.
Thus nigh draws death, no need to fear, For You are near, not far, so blessed, For all who trust in You find rest.
